[Fantastic Collaboration] X Games X Blackbriar
Anyone who loves sports has probably heard of the ultimate extreme sports event: the X Games. It's a competition that people of all generation who love extreme sports can enjoy, offering an incredible thrill and a sense of awe. It is also the largest extreme sports event in the United States.
The X Games were established by ESPN in 1994 and first held in Rhode Island in 1995 under the name ‘Extreme Games.’ The following year, it was officially renamed to X Games. Initially, it was only held during the summer, but starting in 1997, winter events were added, shaping the format we know today.
The X Games are held all over the world. In the United States, the summer and winter events are held regularly (recently in Ventura, California for summer and Aspen, Colorado for winter). They are also held separately in Asia and Europe. In 2005, the event took place in Seoul, and since 2022, the summer events have been held in Chiba, Japan.
[Currently, the summer sports of X Games are BMX, motorcycle, and skateboarding, and several competitions are being held within summer sports, and winter sports are also hosting several competitions using skiing and snowboarding.]
At the X Games Aspen 2023, South Korean athlete Choi Gaon won the snowboard superpipe event at the age of 14 years and 2 months, breaking the record for the youngest winner previously held by American legend Chloe Kim, who won at 14 years and 8 months.
Except for the times it was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the X Games have continued to be held, attracting athletes from all over the world to showcase their skills and passion for extreme sports. (Remarkably, there are even participants under the age of 10!)
